How to Switch to Raw Food

How To Switch to Raw

A simple guide to transitioning your dog to a healthier, natural diet.

Step 1

Before The Switch

Puppies:

Puppies have high metabolic needs. You can skip the fasting and go straight to Step 2.

Adult Dogs:

Fast for 24 hours before their first raw meal. No snacks or chews allowed!

Step 2

Choose Your Method

You can choose between a Gradual Transition or Cold Turkey. Cold Turkey doesn't mean the meat is cold—it means switching straight away to a 100% raw meal after the fast.

Step 3

Start With One Protein

We suggest starting with Poultry (Chicken or Duck). In our experience, these are the easiest proteins for a dog's system to digest when starting out.

Step 4

Feed for One Week

Stick to that single protein for at least 7 days. Some dogs need a little more time to adjust. Keeping meals "bland" (just the raw pack) helps the gut stabilize faster.

Step 5

Introduce Others Slowly

Once settled, begin introducing other proteins one by one. Always observe your dog and ensure they are thriving with each new addition.

"The Poop Holds the Answers"

Before making any new changes or adding a new protein, look for firm or solid stools. This is the best sign that your dog's digestive system has fully adjusted!
